WELCOME 2014!!!!

Well here we are beginning another new year!
I am going to make a concerted effort to post weekly at first until I get back in the swing of things!

So I will begin with a post of my Christmas Tree for 2013 even though it is a little late! Was sick in bed the week before Christmas! Yuk! and still not feeling totally back to normal at Christmas.
My brother, Chip, came in for Christmas; the first time we have shared a Christmas in over 20 years! So this was a great Christmas for Jordan and I....

This is my "2013" Tree. I did not put up my little Coastal Tree this year but purchased a 6 1/2 ft. tree and decorated in Red and Green. I really loved this years tree!

And here is Kesha, supervising

The LaMorte Girls

These are special ornaments that I received from my students this year.

The Snowflake is my dated yearly ornament...from Target.

This Ornament was purchased at Gatorland our Yearly First Grade Field Trip.
Gatorland is one of the first theme parks in Florida, dating back to the 50's!

These are the ornaments I chose this year from Old Time Pottery and Cracker Barrel...

I also have the Star in Red.

And last but not least my Beautiful Christmas Cactus that I received from Jacob, one of my students last year, blooming again this year!!

So this is Good Bye 2013...
And Welcome 2014!!!

First Year Blogging Anniversary!!!!

February 3,2013

In 4 days on the 7th will be the 1year anniversary of my first post on this blog!!!! Alot has happened in this last year..
My 4 years of cargiving for my Mom ended when she passed away April 5, 2012, almost exactly 4years to the day from the time that she suffered a massive stroke and had brain surgery.

This is a far cry from the beautiful, elegant Lady she was before the stroke!

She never recovered her ability to speak and I became her voice and caregiver. It was a privilage to care for the most Godly woman I ever knew and the most influential person in my life. all that I am was because of her Love, guidence, faith and example! I miss her terribly still have almost a year!!!

And so began the journey to rebuild my life that had been put on hold for those 4 years. It has been a little more challenging that I thought....

But through Lane, the wonderful young First Grade Teacher that I assist, I was introduced to blogging!!! and Pinterest!!! I am totally addicted!!! And it has opened up a whole wonderful, exciting new world for me. It has jump started the "Creative Me"!

I have also joined facebook , am learning to use an Android Tablet, have taken quick courses in Microsoft Word, Excel and Quick books... Keeping up with all the technology that is the future!!!

I also was restored to my full time Position at the Catholic School where I work in September after having been cut to part time 2 years ago!!! An answer to many prayers. The Lord's timing is Perfect!

So here I am in this New Year "2013" excited to see what wonderful new opportunities will unfold, what new people I will meet, and the places that I will go!!!!

December 28,2012

Well, here we are at the end of another year "2012".... Alot has happened this year, many blessings and answered prayers, losses and tradgedies!
I have been absent from blogging for 6 months!!!! can't believe it! When I began this blog in February I was soooo naive!! I didn't really comprehend what it took to blog multiple times a week!
You need alot of photos and material to draw from...first lesson learned.. so to continue my education process I subscribed to many, many blogs.. which is what I have been doing for the last six months. I wasn't idle. . And I have enjoyed each and everyone of those blogs and have learned so much.I also learned what a tight knit community the blog world is and what faith everyone has...inspiring.
I witnessed this after the unspeakable tradgedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Ct. on December l4th!!! And the response from everyone was incredible!

One of my New Years Resolution is to post new blogs at least 2-3 times a week. And I would love to attend a Blog Conference and meet so many of the blogger that been following these last six months.

Christmas decorations have been packed away for another year except the tree which I will not take down until January 6th....

Tomorrow  I am going to Sebring to celebrate a late Christmas and the New Years with very dear friends before a hectic week of Drs.Appointments, car servicing and such before I return to school January 7th. Friends who have supported me for the last 4 years of caring for my mother who had suffered a massive stroke and was unable to speak or walk. These women were my strength, they kept me going. My Mom went home to be with the Lord on April 5th almost 4years to the day from the time she had the stroke. She has left a large void but also a great legacy, to myself, my brother, her grandsons and  her friends. She was a Godly woman who lived her faith every day and led by example.

How did 2weeks go by soooo fast! So much more I wish I could fit in! Places to go and people to see.
Another New Years resolution....
This weekend I will contemplate all the events of 2012 and what I Wish for the New Year!
And I pray that 2013 will be a wonderful, healthy, happy and prosperous New Year for everyone.

God Bless
Debbi

Welcome to Historic Downtown Sebring, Florida.....

Last week on the way to church I decided to go to downtown Sebring. A quaint, charming, old Southern town with lots of charm.
Sebring was establish in 1912 by George Sebring a pottery manufacturer from the Village of Sebring in Ohio.
This year is the towns Centennial and the city has events planned to celebrate it all year long.
Sebring is the home of the Sebring International Raceway, created on a former Airbase first used in l950. It is currently known as the host of the 12 Hours of Sebring, an annually held American LeMans Series race. People come from all around the world; one of the famous people who raced here was Paul Newman.
It is nickname the "City on the Circle" which is home to the downtown historic district. There is a beautiful park in the center with a circle drive around it and side streets coming off the circle
resembleing a wheel.
